Animated Flash based book utilizing the Wiimote for wireless interactivity

At university I created an animated book within Flash and After Effects that could be run on a web-page or in a Flash player. I applied the pages of this book I had created onto the pages of a virtual Flash based book that allows the user to turn pages like a real book.

With a bit of trickery I connected the Wii controller and the infra-red receiver to an Apple Mac and a TV display so when the user points to a page on the screen with the remote, they can then click and drag that page over to progress through the book.

This works while the animations are still playing on the page, creating a unique and immersive experience for both children and adults alike.

This next project was submitted as an ISTD (International Society of Typographic Designers) brief in 2007. The brief was to create a typographic animation based on a passage from a movie. I chose the iconic scene from the start of Citizen Kane where as a child he plays with Rosebud while the adults discuss his future.

I wanted to show the breakthrough cinematography used in that scene with just text in showing a constant camera take to show the three levels of attention within the scene.
