At university I created an animated childrens book that children could interact with by using a Wii controller (Wiimote). The pages were created with Photoshop and After Effects then combined within Flash. I applied the pages of this book I had created onto the pages of a virtual Flash based book that allows the user to turn pages like a real book. The final file could then be applied to a website or any Flash enabled player.
With a bit of trickery I connected the Wii controller and the infra-red receiver to an Apple Mac and a TV display so when the user points to a page on the screen with the remote, they can then click and drag that page over to progress through the book.
This works while the animations are still playing on the page, creating a unique and immersive experience that children would hopefully love.
